Lacy V Scarf

If you need a last minute gift that is home made and lovely, check out this lacy scarf.  Made on large needles with Wool Ease yarn, it zips right along.  Make is as long or short as you like, or extra long and knot the ends.  One ball of Wool Ease will make two scarves, one for you and one for a friend.  You can use any yarn you like, of course, and this is one pattern where gauge is not terribly important.

*NOTE*
SSK is slip-slip-knit, you make 2 sts into 1 (you can substitute [slip 1, k1, psso] if you like)

SSSK is slip-slip-slip-knit, you make 3 sts into 1 (you can substitute [slip 1, k2tog, psso] if you like)

Directions:
Cast on 29 sts and work 6 rows of garter stitch (knit each row).  Continue in pattern
stitch.

Pattern:
1) Slip 1, k6, yo, SSK, k1, yo, SSK, p5, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k7.
2) Slip 1, k3, p8, k5, p8, k4.
3) Slip 1, k7, yo, SSK, k1, yo, SSK, p3, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k8.
4) Slip 1, k3, p9, k3, p9, k4.
5) Slip 1, k8, yo, SSK, k1, yo, SSK, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k9.
6) Slip 1, k3, p10, k1, p10, k4.
7) Slip 1, k9, yo, SSK, k1, yo, SSSK, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k10.
8) Slip 1, k3, p21, k4.
9) Slip 1, k10, yo, SSK, k3, k2tog, yo, k11.
10) Slip 1, k3, p21, k4.
11) Slip 1, k11, yo, SSK, k1, k2tog, yo, k12.
12) Slip 1, k3, p21, k4.
13) Slip 1, k12, yo, SSSK, yo, k13.
14) Slip 1, k3, p21, k4.

Repeat these 14 rows until 1” from desired length.  Work 6 rows garter stitch.  Cast
off.  Tuck in ends.
