Lace Swirl Shawl
This shawl is elegant in every way.
Sample shown here was knitted of 2 ply natural colored Border Leicester
wool, spun lace weight, it weighs only 8 ounces. This shawl
is started on double pointed, size 10 needles but quickly switches to
circular needles for easy knitting. The lace patterns are not
difficult to memorize and knitting goes fairly quickly. The
final border is in garter stitch which stabilizes the lace and holds
its shape well. Not for the beginner,
this pattern is for the intermediate and advanced knitters.
Finished size will depend on the size and weight of yarn
used. Make a delicate shawl of lace weight yarn or a thick
"monster" shawl for the back of the couch.
